Laying the Foundation for Total Health

Chiropractic care seeks to build health from the inside out. That means we don’t just treat symptoms, we find the underlying cause so that you can find long lasting relief. As part of your care we will establish a strong foundation of health, similar to the way you build a house one step at a time. In both cases, if you don’t lay a strong foundation, the walls would eventually all come tumbling down. Likewise, you wouldn’t put a roof on before putting walls up. Your body’s health follows a similar pattern. Your structured treatment plan will follow a three-phase approach to chiropractic care.

Laying the Foundation for Total Health

Chiropractic care is like building a house – certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work correctly. When building a house, if you tried to put up your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually collapse. If you tried to put on your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. The same is true for your body. Your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of chiropractic care:

Phase 1: Relief Care

If you’re in pain, our primary objective will be to help you feel better as quickly as possible. THis phase may take up to 4 to 12 weeks depending on the severity of your problem.

Phase 2: Corrective/ Restorative Care

Once you’ve gotten relief from your bigger pain points, we can focus on corrective care which allows for your muscles and tissues to heal and prevent further injury. Depending on your health and the severity of your condition, this phase can take anywhere from 6 to 24 months.

Phase 3: Wellness Care

Once your health is restored and you’re feeling better, you’ll move into a wellness phase. This phase plans for periodic adjustments to maintain health and prevent future problems or pains. This is typically a quick visit once or more per month, depending on your lifestyle and your health goals.
